Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I really use my learning / development budget for Dutch lessons?
In most Dutch companies, language training is explicitly allowed under learning & development, training, or personal development budgets. If your company supports professional growth, integration, or communication skills, Dutch is almost always acceptable. If needed, we’ll give you a short justification text you can forward to HR or your manager.
2. How does the process work from form to first lesson?
- You fill in the form with your budget, goals and current level.
- We design a trajectory that fits your budget and timeline.
- You receive a clear proposal you can share internally.
- Your manager / HR approves.
- We invoice your employer and schedule your test lesson and roadmap session.
3. I don’t know my exact budget. Can I still fill in the form?
Yes. An estimate is enough to start. You can write something like “around €1,000” or “one training per year.” We’ll create one or two budget‑friendly options you can discuss with your manager.
4. I’m not sure about my current Dutch level. What should I do?
No problem. Just fill in an estimate in the form. During your first session we do a level check (A0–B2) and then adjust the plan accordingly. You don’t need to get this perfect upfront.
5. Will you talk to my employer or HR directly?
Only if you want us to. Standard: we send you a proposal you can forward yourself. If you prefer, we can also:
- create a manager‑friendly version in Dutch or English
- CC you in an email to HR / L&D
- join a short call with your manager to answer questions
6. How is the payment handled? Do I pay or does my company pay?
For learning budget trajectories we normally invoice your employer directly. If your company asks you to pay first and get reimbursed, we can make the invoice out to you with the right details for reimbursement.
7. What if my budget doesn’t cover a full package?
We design the plan around your budget. Options include:
- a shorter but more intensive trajectory
- splitting payment between your employer and you
- starting with a smaller package now and extending later if you get extra budget
8. Are the lessons online or offline? Can I combine them?
You can choose: 1‑on‑1 or 2‑on‑1, online or offline (depending on location). Many people start online for flexibility. You can also combine both online and offline lessons, just let us know in the form.
9. How soon can I start after approval?
Once your company approves and the invoice details are set, we usually schedule your first test lesson within 1-2 weeks, depending on your availability and tutor match.
10. What language are the lessons in?
For beginners we mix English and Dutch so you feel safe and still progress quickly. As you improve, we gradually increase Dutch so you get used to real‑life situations at work and outside.
11. What is your cancellation / rescheduling policy?
You can cancel or move a lesson free of charge up to 48 hours in advance. This gives you flexibility while keeping your progress on track.
12. What if my company needs a formal quote or documentation?
No problem. We can provide:
- an official quote with company details and VAT
- a clear program description with learning goals and levels
- attendance / progress reports if your employer requests them
- certification or proof of participation at the end of the course
